“Don’t fulfill any expectations of anybody. You have only one responsibility and that is towards your own being. If you try to fulfill other’s expectations you will be in trouble because they will impose, they will dominate, they will cripple and paralyze you. They are your enemies! Anybody who expects anything from you is your enemy–beware.
A real friend simply gives you freedom. Love gives freedom: there is no expectation, there is no desire to manipulate you, not even indirectly. Freedom is the highest value of life.”

This is one of the reasons I love Osho’s teachings so much – his stress on freedom being paramount to everything in existence.
