Here we are at the Marche aux Puce flea market in Paris. Obviously my sister is beside herself to be shopping here with me in Paris, and NOT working as she always is. She lives in Germany and teaches the German police cadets the proper way to arrest Americans haaa haa, no really! After staying at her place we decided to do a few days in Paris of course! The Marche aux puce is fantastic. There are between 2500-3,000 different stalls or sellers. From new items to vintage. There are antiques of all sorts. There are wonderful litho’s and prints, something for everyone. Outside the fixed “anitique” section there are stalls with new merchandise, from converse sneakers to CD’s, etc. I bought a leather bag from Morocco, and kurtas from India.
To get to the market take the Metro to Porte de Clingnancourt, when you exit turn left and go north on Rue des Rosiers. This area you need to be careful of your belongings, watch for pick-pockets. The market is open Sat thru Mon. from 9am to 7pm…the best deals are on Mon. as sellers see how they did on the weekend and are more likely to discount items.
